Dans le cadre du projet Duologie organisé par le centre d'artiste DARE-DARE, Lynda Gaudreau a été jumelé à l'artiste Michelle Lacombe. Depuis la Finlande, Lynda Gaudreau a documenté la période de leurs échanges. Son projet Kirjeita Suomesta / Lettres de Finlande rassemble photographies, captations vidéo, dessins et écrits autour du corps, de l'autoportrait et de la nature morte. Trois lettres à trois femmes ponctuent ce document : Lettre à Michelle, Lettre à Helene Schjerfbeck, peintre, et la dernière adressée à la Première Ministre de Finlande, Sanna Marin. L'éloignement et la crise sanitaire traversent ce film qui devient à la fois journal intime, carnet de voyage et lettres.

As part of the Duologie program organized by the artist-run center DARE-DARE, Lynda Gaudreau was paired with artist Michelle Lacombe. From Finland, Lynda Gaudreau documented the period of their exchange. Her project Kirjeita Suomesta / Letters from Finland brings together photographs, video recordings, drawings and writings around the body, the self-portrait and the still life. Three letters to three different women punctuate this document: Letter to Michelle, Letter to Helene Schjerfbeck, the painter, andthe last one being addressed to the Prime Minister of Finland, Sanna Marin. Remoteness and the health crisis run through this film, which becomes a diary, a travel notebook and letters all at once.

À l'été 2022 et pendant quelques jours seulement, Lynda Gaudreau réunit en studio un petit groupe de danseurs et de danseuses issu·e·s de la danse contemporaine et du break dance pour explorer ce que d'autres artistes pourraient faire avec l'un de ses concepts de travail : le fake space. Le fake space aborde le mouvement et l'espace de manière désynchronisée, en brisant la linéarité du mouvement et en interrompant l'action en vue de produire de l'imprévisibilité.
Dans un studio blanc, presque vide, chaque artiste présente, à la manière d'un portrait, son expérimentation du jour en s'adressant face à la caméra. La recherche artistique se déroule devant nos yeux. L'équipe complète du film s'y investit. Une réflexion émerge sur l'espace, sur la place de l'expérimentation et de l'erreur dans la création.

In the summer of 2022, for a few days only, Lynda Gaudreau gathered a small group of dancers from contemporary and break dance to explore how other artists might use one of her working concepts: the fake space. The fake space approaches movement and space in a desynchronized way, breaking the linearity of movement and interrupting the action in order to produce unpredictability.
In a white, almost empty studio, each artist presents, in the manner as a portrait, his or her experimentation of the day by addressing the camera. The artistic research takes place in front of our eyes. The entire film team is involved. A reflection emerges on space, on the place of experimentation and error in creation.
Together with the dancers, her co-cinematographer and the photographic work of Miklos Gaál, Lynda Gaudreau revisits a compositional tool that she developed ten years ago and that has shaped her interdisciplinary practice.
